Kyoto dialect

Certain words are used in Kyoto or in the Kansai area that may be unusual in other parts of Japan.

One example is the use of おおきに (O-kini) "Okini" which is the same as 'thank you'.

You might hear it from staff at a bar or restaurant, etc.

There are many variations of verbs and other types of words in Kansai-ben or the Kansai region's dialect which Kyoto is a part of.
